From the first loom we built in 1977, one of our main goals has been to take the unnecessary tedium out of weaving. What better way to ruin a perfectly delightful afternoon than to have a loom that doesn’t respond to what you want to do. AVLs have a host of features that will make your weaving more pleasurable than ever before.

  • Side Tie-Ups. All of our treadle looms tie on the side. No more long afternoons spent crawling under your loom.

  • Automatic Warp Tension. Tension is set at the warp beam rather than at the finished cloth, so the first inch (or centimeter) looks just as good as the last and vice versa.

  • Dual Warp Beams. Every AVL allows you to weave with separate warp tensions - a must to get proper tension when weaving two different fibers.

  • Automatic Cloth Advance. A wonderful option that is especially well-suited for open or loose weaves because every pick is perfectly spaced…automatically!

  • A Lot More. Flyshuttles, rolling temples, sectional beams and more; all will help you to have more fun than ever before.
