According to Jim Ahrens (the “A” in AVL Looms) there are over 64,000 different harness combinations that can be used in any order at any time to create a nearly limitless number of patterns. The possibilities rise exponentially when you get to 24 and 40 shafts. And that doesn’t even take into account color. Or different yarns.

Clearly the possibilities are endless. Whether you have just moved up from 4 or 8 shafts or are making the huge jump to jacquard, AVL has a loom for you.

And don’t forget the AVL Weaving School, where much of the mystery of complex weaving can be, well, de-mystified. AVL has classes in the basics as well as advanced classes where everyone gets to experiment on a Workshop Dobby Loom (generally we have a better than one loom to two student ratio).
