AVL RELEASES WEAVEPOINT 6.1

Chico, CA --- AVL Looms is pleased to announce the release of WeavePoint Version 6.1, the latest in a long line of improvements to our longest running software. Renowned weaver instructor and AVL owner Bonnie Inouye was the genesis of many of the new features, and had this to say,

WeavePoint has some wonderful new tools! I was pleased by the additions in WeavePoint 6, but wished for an easier way to create parallel threadings. Some other weavers and I been working with Bjorn Myhre, who writes WeavePoint and responds to our requests. Now I have heard from AVL and they are making this new version available. Email AVL directly, please, for more information on this. Here are the things added to WeavePoint Version 6.1

  • All New item in Transform menu: Insert Parallel. You can begin with a threading and then insert a parallel threading or more than one, at any given interval, and quickly color each line.
  • New option for printing a draft: Fill with numbers.
  • New item in File/Export: Save Draft as PNG-image. Useful for making quality draft images for publication in books etc.
  • New item in Edit menu: Crop.
  • New option in Insert Threading/Treadling: Above, Below, Overlap.

If you are not familiar with the term "parallel threading", this is similar to "threading on opposites" but more general. Parallel threadings are useful for warp rep, shadow weave, turned taquete, echo weave, 4-color doubleweave, and other techniques.

WeavePoint Version 6.1 upgrade was emailed out to all eligible registered users for free. Eligible customers may also purchase a CD-ROM upgrade from AVL for the low price of $25 plus shipping and handling.
