Hello (again) from Ken Devol

There have been two great events in my recent life. First, I’ve been gifted with a grandchild, Elijah — Eli — a strapping lad of twenty inches with lungs as large as a dirigible. Second, I’ve returned to AVL. Some of you may remember me from my first thirteen years; to others I’m a brand new face. To all I say, hello, I’m excited to be back. I’m especially excited to be working with Bob Kruger, AVL’s new owner.

I had not planned this return to old stomping grounds. In fact, for the last six years I’ve been trending in an entirely different direction. But after many hours of discussion with Bob, over many meetings, I became convinced that he has the vision, the experience, and the dedication to raise AVL to a new level — perhaps to several new levels. I want to be a part of that and so here I am, back in the saddle, rarin’ to go. Immediately I’ll be working hard to improve our processes so we’re able to provide you better service. But going forward, my primary commitment will be to strengthen and extend our parts and accessories program. Our hope is that in the not too distant future, you will turn to AVL first whenever you have a weaving need, be it large or small. It’s a big vision and we’ll need lots of input from you; but, together, I think we can do something very good for weavers and for weaving. And that’s exciting.

So, time for me to roll up my sleeves and get to work. Please stay tuned — over the next few months, I expect we’ll have some exciting new things to talk about. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me with your ideas. I can be reached at: kdevol@avlusa.com.

Best regards to all of you (it’s great to be back),

Ken
